§ 20-23. Littering with burning material and ashtray.

  • (a)

    In accordance with MCA 61-8-372, it shall be unlawful for a person to throw away lighted matches, tobacco, cigarettes, cigars or other lighted material on a public roadway, a private road or railroad right-of-way, except lighted materials used as safety signaling devices.

    (b)

    It shall be unlawful for a person to empty an ashtray containing matches, ashes, cigarette or cigar refuse or other related material on a public roadway, a private road or railroad right-of-way.

    (c)

    Approved fireworks, as authorized during the times and dates provided by ordinance, are exceptions to this section.
