§ 16-172. Riots.

  • (a)

    The term "riot" means to purposely and knowingly disturb the peace by engaging in an act of violence, or threat to commit an act of violence, as part of an assemblage of five or more persons, which act or threat presents a clear and present danger of or resulting in damage to property or injury to persons.

    (b)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to participate in any riot within the municipality or within three miles of the municipal limits.
